1:14 Ferrari FXX K RC Car Review
We’ve seen some great ‘XX’ cars from Ferrari over the years.
There was the FXX, which was based on the Enzo. The 599XX, which was based on the 599 and then their ‘EVO’ versions. And now what I have here is the FXX K, the latest hardcore track version of the LaFerrari. As all of them were sold before they were revealed and each costed 3 million quids, you can now have it for much much cheaper, as a remote control car, in 1:14 scale.
A famed model car manufacturer Maisto makes this thing. I love the way it looks. It’s staggering. It looks like a rocket with four wheels. Those wings at the back and angry front make it look even more aggressive.
It’s made of plastic so this thing is light. It’s amazing how this little toy is so well detailed. Rear wings, front wings are present on this car. Headlights, tail-lights work when you run it forward or backward. It has the rain light and the rear diffusers. And some logos and brandings are present on the body. It sits low like the real car and has slightly negative camber on the front wheels.
Though it looks good and it’s made to resemble the real car which it does quite well, there are few things that could improve this RC car even more.
Like for examples, the Ferrari logos are stickers instead of being printed on the body so there are chances of them falling off anytime. Those big red brake calipers don’t have Ferrari written on them. And it’s an FXX K, it isn’t supposed to have road tires. Road tires just don’t go with this thing. Slicks would’ve been much much better. It doesn’t have interior so you just have to stare at this black plasticky window. These things would’ve made this RC car more realistic. And above all, mine was brand new and when I looked underneath it, there were some wires coming out which meant it was broken before I could even test it. I don’t really buy these to play with but you and your kids will probably want to because this is what it’s for.
Maisto could’ve improved this RC car. Sad that they didn’t. But what else could you ask more for 50-60$?
To me it’s a 6 out of 10. It’s good but not that well made if you compare it to other RC cars on the market. It’s in my collection because it’s a Ferrari and I wanted an FXX K in 1:14 scale. I don’t like the build quality that much but it’s ok for an RC car. Maybe you wouldn’t care about any of these as it’s just a toy. Maybe you’d have it because it’s an RC car and you wanted to play with it. So it’s up to you whether you’re going to have it or not.
