Kronos

Well, my first word was actually “Car”. At least thats what i was told. As a baby, whenever i saw a picture of a car like in a newspaper my dad would put the newspaper on the ground and put me on top of the car and i would just have the best time. At the time i was a toddler, My neighbour’s car was a hyundai santro and me and his daughter, who is the same age as me, used to fight over whos car it is. at that time my family didnt have a car. In fact, the first car that my dad bought was because of me. It was a Maruti Suzuki 800 with a 4 speed manual gearbox and may family isnt even into cars. The first love of mine was actually a Ferrari F40. I was about 2 or three when we went to a family friend’s house and when i walked into one of their rooms i saw a poster with a red car and it just blew me away and at that time i didn’t even know what the car was or what Ferrari was. My friend next door then got a toy version of the Ferrari and i used to play with it all the time and to this day i still remember the feel of the car. Until i got to the age of 8 and we moved to New Zealand i didnt know any other great car apart from that red one (Ferrari F40). I had no knowledge that that car was even a supercar. When i grew older i realised that this car is one of the greatest supercars in the world. Plus, it was the last car that Ferrari made while Enzo Ferrari was still alive. As i became 10 years old The fast and the furious movies, Top Gear, Need For Speed Underground and the performance car magazine (my mum used to bring it for me in NZ) which had posters of skylines, rx7’s and evos fueled and ignited the love of cars for me even more. The love for cars will always be there. I would therefore like to thank my parents, the fast and furious crew, the three top gear knuckleheads and everyone here on carthrottle and around the world who love cars. I love you all. Keep shifting those gears people and May the boost be with you.

I think Need for Speed Underground/Underground 2 sparked my interest at first.
Helped along by growing up around my Stepdad’s amateur rally history and his own interest in cars and their modification..

I was about 6 or 7 when I was on my way to her boat that was docked in Seneca 3 or so hours away from Chicago not sure and she cuts this guy off at a stop sign even though he had stopped first. Many years later I realized the car that then overtook my grandmother and I in a Buick regal was a Ferrari F40 that was the moment my love for automobiles went past the little boy who had some matchbox cars level

My love affair with cars started christmas day 1993 when i was barely a year old. My dad got me a plastic peddle powered go card in the shape of a formula 1 car and started pushing me around on it by pushing a broom into the back of it while he walked. To turn for me he would simply move the broom to one side of the rear on the kart but what he didnt count on was me not wanting to go that way so i countersteered… the plastic wheels began to slide and i was drifting this plastic formula 1 peddle go kart through a caravan park on christmas day. THIS is where it all began for me
