Can a European please explain to me the different stereotypes associated with brands in Europe. For example, in the USA a Land Rover driver is seen as pretentious, Cadillac and Jag owners are usually old and retired,...
Anyone with a small hatch is obviously a boy racer…
Anyone with a big truck is compensating…
Anyone with a caravan likes pianos that fall from the sky.
Sedans are the only respectable cars
Do people in the UK even own big trucks? It would seem highly inconvenient to have a full size pickup with how narrow some streets are and how small parking spaces tend to be.
How about SUVs, Minivans and Hybrids? :D
Peugeot - driven by people who buy cars like washing machines and fridges - so don’t care as long as it has 4 wheels. Other French cars - all ok driven by any age. Volvo - mums in their 40s. Land Rover - prestigious/desirable. Jaguar - normally older successful guys and the government. Bmw - car guys. Audi - tailgaters. Mercedes - smart/sophisticated
that is very interesting. In the USA a BMW driver is stereotypically pretentious sort of like Mercedes. What is the culture associated with Toyota like?
Its funny how the BMW’s and Audi’s switched places over the years.
I don’t know where you live, but in France this is : -VW and Audi = douchebags -BMW = showy but still enjoy driving -Mercedes = gypsies’ and old person’s cars -Fiat (except the 500), Opel and Renault (except the RS models) = I don’t know what I drive, I don’t like cars and my car will always be at the garage -Citroen = either I’m an old person, or I like driving a quite premium spaceship -Peugeot = like Renault for the cheap models but the premium and sporty models are bought by upper class people who are not fortunate enough to buy a German car or who still want to buy a french car (like for the 508, the 208 GTi or the RCZ) -Alfa Romeo and Lancia = silly passion.
To be fair the mighty 1ohshit is a fantastic daily
BMW - young ricers, aggressive. (new)Volvo - businessmans, cars for families, for responsible drivers in suits. Mercedes - car for taxi drivers
Peugeot/citroen/Renault-cheap cars owned by people who don’t care BMW/Audi-often owned by kn*bends Mercs/Skodas-Taxis and that’s it
are new mini coopers seen as cars drive by tumblr-addicted white girls? and are land rovers seen as vehicles driven by guys with cool rich guys with beards and tattoos?
