#FH4 Why we need a Forza Horizon game set in Scandinavia - I'm totally unbiased BTW

Forza Horizon 4! If it follows Forza’s Motorsport-Horizon-Motorsport alternating cycle it’s bound to come out in fall of 2018, and I thought I might share my opinion with you on where the next Horizon game should be set and why. My opinion is, of course, totally unbiased. Totally.

Scandinavia? Scandinavia!

Fine! I may be a tiny bit biased but that’s only because I live here! But where exactly is “here”? Well some people use the name “Scandinavia” interchangeably with “the Nordic countries”, which consist of Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. What I mean by Scandinavia is the Scandinavian peninsula, which houses Norway, Sweden and north-eastern Finland. And I imagine the game taking place within the circle on this map:

This area is roughly twice the size of the area covered in FH2, and covers the dramatic and beautiful mountainous landscape of Norway as well as a large portion of the thick forest that covers more than 80% of northern Sweden. Some car guys may have heard of Arjeplog, the facility located in the town with the same name that auto makers from all over the world use for winter testing their cars? It’s located within this circle. And the map could include roads like this:

And this:

And this:

And for the ones who liked just hopping between dunes in the desert in FH3, there’s this:

There’s plenty of opportunity for both some epic driving and spectacular scenery! Set the game in fall and just imagine yourself tearing down a lonely road during in the dead of night, with only your lights illuminating the road and the roar from your 2.2l inline-five echoing through the forest. It’s amazing, trust me. I have done it. Then as you ascend a mountain on a twisty, narrow roads the thick spruce and pine forest thins until only short, cold northern birch trees are left, and you look back at the massive forest behind you! You floor it over the cold and desolate fell, past frozen lakes and jagged rocks on either side of the road. Then you head through a tunnel and ahead of you lies another narrow, twisty road descending into a sleepy fishing village a long way down at the foot of the mountain. (Disclaimer: I haven’t done the latter part, unfortunately) Perhaps even thick snow could lie on top of the mountain, what about a glacier somewhere on the map? Unlike Blizzard Mountain, a snowy setting would actually make sense this time!

And on top of that, I think this goes without saying really, Scandinavia has another great feature on its side:

The cars!

I’m pretty sure Scandinavia (well, Sweden) has produced more great cars per capita than any other country in the world? Please do correct me if I’m wrong though. But there’s no arguing the fact that we have produced some truly fantastic cars over the years, such as:

The Saab 99 Turbo

And…

The Saab 9-5 Aero

A whole lot of Saabs basically:

And of course:

And lest we forget:

The legendary Thulin typ A!

And if you’re still not convinced, then just know that we have eurobeat named after a car!:

And that is why I’m hoping for a Forza Horizon game set in Scandinavia. Not to mention the sheer amount of Scandinavian car guys. Did you know for example that Sweden has the largest amount classic American cars in the world outside America? It’s true http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/unexpected-american-vehicles-appear-streets-sweden and there are plenty of scrapped old cars in the woods, too http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/valkommen-till-bloms-bilskrot-huge-swedish-junkyard-holds-countless-treasures so barnfind opportunities, we have.

Oh and hey, thank you for reading all the way down!

Finland could bring a wet, foresty place too, but then the map would have to be either big or distorted to include it all.

Well, really big map wouldn’t hurt.

I dig the idea….but what they Really need to do is mix forza horizon open world with tracks FROM the real world. Imagine driving around in an ooen world, then taking plane trips to other countries. Drive around in thise open world enviroments….and once in a while go to one of those real world tracks. That would be amazing.

I heard many people want FH4 to be set in Japan. That’s cool and all, but I want FH4 to come back to America, because I live there.
