So, if i build a drift missile i’ll be sure to bash my manifold in😂

A small summary of the result would be nice, if you bother to make an article…..

The dents don’t make a significant difference.

“How well does a pair of beat up hookers perform?” :D

This test just showed that the tubes were way too big in the first place. Everyone with knowledge of fluid dynamics can confirm that a smaller diameter does make a big difference.

correct, as does trajectory length and resonance, not to mention the angle of the bends. People always seem to think bigger is better when it comes to exhausts - it REALLY isn’t always the case.

Engines need a bit of backpressure ot run. Why do people think big engined cars like the Audi RS6 and Merc use big fake exhaust tips when the actualy tips are maybe 2 inches across?

Smaller diameter pipes increase the speed of the exhaust gasses which helps to pull them out of the cylinder and helps get more air into the cylinder as well (because of intake/exhaust cam overlap)

So… basically the headers weren’t engineered to start with.. big surprise.

What if they dent it and give it some nitrous shots?

im imagining it has little effect due to the pipes being under very high pressure naturally when ran at high RPM at low RPM i doubt there is sufficient flow to make the dents matter.

Fit the rest of the exhaust system and see how well it flows.

Once past the collectors, the impact isn’t as big as you’d imagine, unless someone is daft enough to choke down a 560hp engine with stock exhaust.
