Test Set-Up

Yesterday (saturday evening to be exact), Sir Wafel messaged me about a skill-test. He wanted to see how our skills with rear-wheel-drive, front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive compared. I accepted and we started. We used the scenario “Town Course Short B”

to determine how fast we were. We used the Gavril Barstow 291 V8 Roadsport Package with a manual transmission for RWD, an Ibishu Pessima 2.7 LX V6 Sport with a manual transmission for FWD and a Hirochi Sunburst Race with a manual transmission for AWD.

Driving

The Barstow oversteered a lot, but it was a gradual and progressive oversteer. The suspension is very soft, which is good for the jump and the bumps. Yes there´s a jump on the circuit.

The Pessima was very tail-happy and the suspension was sporty but still handled the jump and the bumps well. If you roughly know what you´re doing, the car is very forgiving. The Sunburst has a very hard suspension, but the jump wasn´t a big problem. The rest was a pain. The curbs destroyed the tyres and the car was very unforgiving. I managed to rip off the front bumper on a curb multiple times and even managed to get in on two wheels for about 5 metres (16ft). Those were my impressions, now I´ll hand over to Sir Wafel for his impressions:

I think the Barstow drives like a boat. It oversteers everywhere and is very hard to control. The Pessima felt good at first but was really understeery on the limit when you start pushing. Putting the power down is also a problem. I really liked the Sunburst. It has loads of grip and therefore understeers a bit. I couldn´t stop rolling on the 3rd corner though.

As you can see, Sir Wafel was quicker in two vehicles. BUT I was right on his tail. There´s less than a second difference between us in the Barstow and Sunburst. I just couldn´t handle the oversteer of the Barstow enough to be quicker and the Sunburst is Sir Wafel´s Car, so it´s predictable that he won that won. Unfortunately I was slower in the Barstow, a muscle Car. I should have been faster. Though I hadn´t driven the Pessima extensively, I was faster by a 2 second margin. Not a suprise, when you consider that Sir Wafel didn´t like the Pessima at all.
That´s all I have to say to our little competition. I never really was ambitious with many things, but through things like this I might develop an ambition.
