#Top5NeedForSpeedCars Maybe this'll be a new trend.
Let’s boot up a new trend. Everyone’s top 5 favorite Need for Speed cars, from any game in the series, to any car on the car list. Lemme see what you guys have. I’ll do mine as a foundation.
1.) Ryan Cooper's Nissan 240sx. (NFS ProStreet)
Ah yes. Nothing engages your childhood nostalgia quite more than the 240sx that propelled our dear friend Ryan Cooper’s racing career straight to the Showdown King. I have such love for this car due to the fact that this car only had suspension tuning and brakes fitted, rather than power, which I absolutely adore. It’s not meant to be fast, but rather it’s meant to be fun. The mismatched wheels, the out of place stickers and discolored body panels make me appreciate the “missile” culture of drifting and racing.
2.) Battle Machine Mazda RX-7. (NFS ProStreet)
There’s something about ProStreet that hits home for me, but I’m not quite sure what. The gritty visual detailing that highlights every sideswipe and shunt, or the fantastic game mechanics for the games intended market.
But the game would be nothing without the cars, namely the RX-7 that had us all hyped up for the 2007 release of this gem. The drift stitching, the giant canon exhaust muffler, and the mismatched wheels have pegged my soft spot for such a beautiful machine. And who isn’t satisfied by the 9k RPM redline of the motor that is the rotary?
And check out those legs. I know some of you guys will enjoy that.
3.) BMW M3 GTR. (NFS Most Wanted 2012)
Surprise! I know 1/2 the CT population is going to reference the M3 GTR, but probably not from MW 2012. The reason I choose the 2012 version of the M3 GTR is because of how much more refined it is compared to its predecessor. It no longer sounds like a vacuum cleaner, and the body lines and sleek curves that defined this car have been polished to damn near perfection.
4.) Mitsubishi Eclipse (NFS Underground.
- The street racing scene was still fresh in everyone’s minds, and ever so much more now that 2 Fast 2 Furious dropped in theaters everywhere. NFS Underground catered to the ever expanding street racing market, thus having children and adults drool over the midnight driving through traffic and endless customization.
What would Underground be without the slick purple Eclipse that zooms across the city, with a yellow Supra in tail? I’ve always loved the 1st generation Eclipse, and the introduction sequence with this car in it further accelerated my infatuation with it. It may not be the most appealing to the eye for some people, but hey, to each his own.
And damn, do I love my purple.
Audi A1 Clubsport Quattro (NFS The Run)
This car isn’t any special edition from the game per say, but it IS a one-off concept car that Audi produced for a private buyer. 496whp from a 5 cylinder engine packed into a compact chassis with AWD, what isn’t to love?
Not really much to say about it. But it’s damn cool.
All she wrote folks. Let’s see what you all come up with.
