We Need To Talk About The New McLaren 688 HS
Using the 675LT ‘super series coupe’ chassis, McLaren has been developing a supercar even more powerful than the crazy LT. Estimated to output around 679bhp, the McLaren MSO HS will use the same basic 3.8-litre V8 from the other cars in the company’s range but cranked up to sit below only the P1.
A nod to the P1 comes in the shape of a fully-active rear wing which is combined with a 40kg weight reduction from the already feather-weight 675LT. A striking roof-scoop and carbonfibre front splitter make for a hardcore McLaren that will take the fight to the best NA supercars that the car world has to offer.
Although this all seems a mouth-watering prospect, McLaren has stated that the MSO HS will not go into mass production with only 25 examples being manufactured. With the 675LT being classed as a P1 without the electric motors, the MSO HS will be a whole new level of performance from the McLaren Super Series. And with the 570GT by MSO debuting at Pebble Beach this week, McLaren seems to be continually on the up across their model range.

Does the design team use the same piece of tracing paper for each car then take or at wings and splitter sizes?
next one will be a version to bridge the gap between the 688HS and the P1.
Do we really NEEEEED to though? I just like looking at the pictures! This approach has got me this far through life, why change now?

McLaren are making record sales and bad marketing is leading them to the idea they can sell basicly the same car over and over adding or removing weight and power. I have huge respect for the company but they spit out like 5-6 models in the last couple of years and most people care only about the P1 and the 675LT anyway.

Every time McLaren launches I new model I can only think that it looks almost like all the others it already has.
That wing fits that car like the wing on the m4 gts fits. It is so out of place and looks really funny
R and D at mclaren must get super friggin tired producing so many new cars all the time!
