When I was a baby, I wouldn’t fall asleep unless my parents put me into the car and drove me through the city. And I still fall asleep immediately when being driven in a car or a bus.
When I was 16 I had an older friend who bought a brand new mk5 fiesta zetec-s. We cruised around in that thing so much and I bought my own mk4 1.25 after that (which turned into a frp engined track attack weapon eventually).
Racing Games on Amiga, then Gran Turismo on PS1
My curiosity sparked it. I don’t remember specifically getting into it, it just happened.
In a Golf GTI speeding out of a corner, some 19 years ago. I will never forget being forced into a seat, and screaming with happiness. I was 2 at a time, and since then a day hasn’t passed without my imagination going berserk on a thought of cars :3
I was born with it. My dad and both his brothers have been car guys since the beginning. When i was born my dad had a 67 Ford Mustang and an 82 Porsche 911 sc. My uncle used to have a 62 Chevy Camaro ss and a 95 land rover range rover. Currently i have a 28. Having all these cars in my background had made me a car guy.
My dad had a blue BMW E30 325i Touring. We used to go everywhere in that car and when there was snow on the ground he would take me to an empty car park for a bit of drifting. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve that car. Sadly, it was crashed in 2002 on icy roads but it’s memory lives on through my passion for cars.
I was really into planes, so I asked for FS 2002 for christmas back then. But my dad brought me Need for Speed Underground 2….And here we are
NFS & F&F series played an important part ;)
For me. it was behind the wheel of a wrx that really started it. till that point it was more a weekend fun to go out. bash a car. it wasnt untill i drove a wrx i realised there was a lot more to a car then a fart can and chromies..After discovering a passion for cars i sold up the wrx and set of for something small. unique. reasonably uncommon but still basic enough that i can build it properly and form an epic sleeperThe only thing i didnt count for was it cost a lot of money to build a car legally for the street!
