This post goes out to anyone who wishes to visit Nürburgring. Important PSA. Read:

The city of Nuremberg has an airport. The city of Nürburg does not. The closest airport for international flights is in Köln. If you want Nürburgring, you go to Cologne.

I’m still a little surprised to hear the number of people who confuse “Nurburg” with “Nuremberg,” I’m like, there’s an extra syllable in there, guys. In fact it’s so common, if you type “Nuremberg” into Google, the second suggestion is “Nuremberg Race Track”

Nurburg = Racetrack
Nuremberg = Where they tried people for war crimes after WWII
Not the same thing.

Or you could fly to East Midland and go to the Mini Ring (Cadwell) with me!

Köln is an amazing city. We stopped there for a night on our way to the ring last year.

They’re two completely different cities, absolutely nowhere near each other. I thought everyone knew that?

ooooor you could take a flight that arrives to munich at late evening/night… rent a car, usually middle class car is a 320d.. drive the 500-600km to the ring by night on the autobahn.. max it out on the way there…

depending on the time you get there either camp, sleep in the car or go to a hotel.. in the morning go to ring garage get the CT86 do a few laps and then blast your way to munich airport…

important: if you want to speed in germany.. do it by night… by day you will be stuck most of the time in traffic…
