Ford Fiesta Chrome Delete

A little tape (ok lots of careful taping), a couple cans of Flex Dip, and voila. Gross, cheap looking chrome goes bye-bye.

How she was sitting by the end of summer

Thanks for checking it out, any questions or comments welcome!

Thanks! First thing I did after replacing the stock 15” steelies (well, kept them and wrapped them in winter rubber instead). I knew I was blacking the grill well before I made my purchase heh.

And now in ‘16 there is a “black” package, a $300 option I think. I’m happy with how this went for like $25 :)

You should have change it for a aftermarket black one. On the long term, It would look better

Oh boy if you could point me towards one I would buy it in a heartbeat.

My research has left me with the notion that the black honeycomb Zetec S or ST style grille does not fit a North American S/SE/Titanium—Europe has slightly different bumper measurements and clip/mount placement. A guy actually went through with a purchase of a black honeycomb and when it made it across the pond he found out the hard way it wouldn’t fit and was stuck trying to sell it back over to someone in Europe.

But maybe (hopefully) I’m wrong?

Looks good but seems extra work masking everything off when surely you can just remove the grill?

Thanks! Yeah you are right about that, this summer/spring I will be doing it that way. This is my first car, and when I got it I was terrified to do anything. Like even a bumper removal for fear of warranty issues lol. But I’ve learned a ton since then, am way more comfortable with wrenching on my car…and don’t care about warranty anymore tbh.

But yeah they don’t just pull out—or they do if you reallllllly giver, but you risk breaking the clip mounts. So ya gotta take the whole bumper off.
