1998 Land Rover Discovery 1 (Daily)

I currently own this..
Why?
It’s different, and I’d never owned a diesel.

I made the decision to hand back my company car, sell my girlfrends BMW as well (E46 330ci) Buy her something new. And get an offroader. Inspired somewhat by the Jeep I had for a few months I wanted a real DIY kind of car and that’s what I’ve done. I’ve had it now since May 2015. Done a lot and learned a lot. It reminds me of the Cortina’s simplicity.

So far, I’ve cut the wheel archers, added some flares, mud tyres, painted the bull bar, roof rack, sound system and 2” suspension lift with some upgraded shocks.
It’s so easy to work on too, everything can be done with a youtube demo.

I drive it every day now. I like it. I can park any where. People move out of my way in fear of me running into them. It’s a back to basics approach of a daily driver.

It’s also great having a car you can take any where, go off road and push it to the max while not looking over your shoulder.
And if it brakes, it’s only a couple of hundred away from being back on the road.
