1996 Suzuki Sidekick JLX Sport.

Engine

The North American version of this little bugger, it sports a Suzuki J18 engine. An inline 4 cylinder with dual overhead cams and hydraulic valve tappets that churns out a high revving 120 HP of pure adorableness.

Transmission

I pulled a 5 speed out of a junkyard 1995 JX 2-door soft top, along with the clutch and transfer case for $121 (USD). The original automatic was removed by my mechanic, and he installed this one. It is a non-boosted clutch, the complete manual experience!

Lift Kit

Consists of a 2” body lift, and a 2.5” suspension lift utilizing ARB’s Old Man Emu struts and coils. Independent front suspension and solid rear axle.
