1989 Audi Coupe Quattro 2.3 20V (ABT)

Here we are with a Audi Coupe Quattro 2.3 20V with ABT bodykit from 1989 .

This car is ours since May 2014 I think.
We had been searching for a nice and reliable oldtimer car for months. We looked at the E30, Corrado, Scirroco, Coupe GT, etc We wanted something which came out of the rest, something different from the classic golf mk2 with BBS rims (thought it’s a nice car, don’t get me wrong).
And we came across this car. At first when I saw it (in picture) I thought it was weird, the colour is strange, looked almost riced up…

But then my father brought it back home… And I was in love.
Thanks to the ABT bodykit, this car looks like a bodybuilder, ready to jump from one apex to the other.
And it ABSOLUTELY IS.
The Quattro, the sports dampers and springs, the -25 mm lowering, the 17 inches OZ wheels (made specially for ABT) makes this car a real weapon in corners.
It’s not the fastest in strait lines, but what’s the point anyways ? It’s fast enough to get your license removed in third gear…

Now speaking about the ABT bodykit / version.
This is what really makes this car unique (even thought the usual Coupe Quattro 20V is allready rare).
This is a complete bodykit: front and rear bumper, front and rear arches, th doors, the trunk spoiler, EVERYTHING is different from stock.
But it doesn’t stop there, because the ABT kit also means a complete custom interior, 17*8.5 OZ wheels which were made especially for ABT, a 25 mm lowering and 2 cm spacers.

The engine: some were modified (bored to 2.5), but ours is stock and we are very happy with it.
It is the most enjoyable part of the car, after the grip: the negine noise.
Pure 5 pot melody is the kind thing you’d like to have as your wake-up alarm…
The 20V 2.3 is a very happy revving engine, thought it’s not dead in lower rpm’s.
But the kick in the ass at 4000 rpm’s is magic.
To emplify the charm, a beautifull stainless CAC silencer was fitted.

In the 2014 summer, we decided to give it complete paintjob, because there were many defects due to the ABT bodykit.
This was our first car, since we had allready painted mororbike before.
It was a great experience as we did it all by ourselves. We took our time to do things properly and we learned a lot.
So as you can see in the pictures, the whole car was dissassembled as we wanted everything to be as good as possible ;)

Thanks for reading this (very short) text !
