1982 Fiat 127 75hp Sport (1300GT in the UK)

The Specs: 1300cc 75bhp engine, 750kg body. No frills. Not fast, but certainly quick enough, and beautiful road-holding.

The story:
Car was bought new by my dad’s uncle in 1982. It spent over 20 years of its life garaged (~83-04). When he finally decided to put it back on the road the engine had no compression, he brought it to my dad to fix; and he ended up taking the engine apart as the compression rings had stuck into the pistons. one set of piston rings later the car was up and running. Dad thought he’d take me for a short ride in it ( I was 13 at the time) and I fell madly in love with the car, and I started looking for one.
4 years later I had bought a Ford KA since I was going on 17 and thought I’d start preparing for when I get my driver’s license. Dad’s uncle was looking for a car with AC and P/S, which the KA had. I struck up a bit of a deal with him and I finally got my Fiat.
Ive owned it for just short of 6 years now. its got 30,000 miles on it (i’ve only put on about 3000),
I’ve had people asking me to sell, but I think its such a fun car, I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Great little story and car. I know how 75BHP feels (1,4 1989 Escort), & completely know how you feel about the car. I’m the same with mine :)
Cheers for sharing!

Just saw your comment. Your Escort was a Mk4 right? 4 years later and I’m still madly in love with my fiat
