1980 Mercedes Benz W123 250

This was my first car when I just turned 18. I have always liked classic and unrestored cars and this was what I could afford at the moment, cars in Ecuador are very expensive. I wasn’t looking for a specific model, my mom’s friend got it from one of her relatives as a payment from a previous loan, they didn’t really appreciate they car and didn’t see the point of taking care of her. They knew I was really into cars, so they called my mom to see if I was interested. My parents and I saw the car and right away I knew I had to buy it, closed the deal that day and took it the next one. The car had only 2 previous owners from the same family and has been kept away for over 10 months. When I picked it up just had to do some service and the car was good to go. Never had an issue with it, really enjoyed driving it to college, where many people disagreed about my taste, they told me I look like an old person in that car. But it was probably because they didn’t know how it made me feel. It had central locking, operated by air pumps which also controlled the headlights position, power steering, all around disc brakes, 2.5 6 cylinder engine, no fuel injection, leather seats (really comfortable) I used to take naps in the back seat.

I just loved how well it was engineered, loved the little details of how the doors closed (so smoothly) also the booth, nice suspension, good throttle response, how the switches operated, every click and mechanic feel and the overall look of the car, like an old wine that just gets better with time. Also, I like the fact that it gave me freedom, I was able to pick a place and drive to it with good company and music, but sometimes I preferred to listen to the car.
