1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V
460 CID 7.5L Big Block V8, All stock with an estimated break-neck 210 horsepower.
Just rolled to 65,000 miles on 8-22-2014
It’s 19 feet and 2 inches long, and tips the scale at a whopping 6,387 pounds.
This is not a trailer/garage queen! This is my daily driver!
This particular Mark V just underwent a full brake overhaul (Hoses, pads, rotors, calipers, fluid, master cylinder…)
The guy driving the snap on truck stopped in front of my house so he could look at my car (it was on jack stands getting the brake overhaul at that point)
To go with the Ford 460 V8, I had Thrush Turbo mufflers and 3 inch diameter chrome tips installed, for the extra rumble. (I had to send it to a muffler shop because I don’t have a lift or any type of welder available)
The photos of the car with 1 inch white wall tires, are old pictures, before I really started doing anything to this car. I’ve since polished my aluminum wheels, changed my right side turn signal lens, gotten 4 matching tires ( not rolling on the spare anymore),touched-up a lot of little rust spots, and took apart my dashboard to fix all of the lights.( lights that would illuminate to show me that my indicator is on, or that I didn’t release my parking brake…)
‘MURICA!
