Armored Mercedes Benz S500
The Armored 2016 S-class by Harrow Security Vehicles - UAE features the highest level of armoring for passenger vehicles, the CEN standard equivalent of B6.
If you operate in a position where you are likely to be shot at most violently - say, high-ranking government official, corporate bigwig, High political figure- then please meet the Armored Mercedes S500 from Harrow, It’s based on the latest generation of Mercedes S-Class. The S-class has always been synonymous with luxury, indulgence, and wealth, and it continues that proud tradition. Inside, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has a perfectly executed modern twist on traditional limo themes. There’s the expected lashings of leather, analogue clock, nautical-style circular air vents that rotate with precision, and even a two-spoke steering wheel that isn’t usually associated with today’s premium cars.
Behind the behemoth Mercedes chrome grille and beneath the stately three-pointed-star badge lies a 4.7-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 engine producing 335kW of power and 700Nm of torque. The vehicle is outfitted in such a way that the extra weight of the armor has least effect on the performance and power of the Armored S500.
Harrow outfits the S500 with a variety of ballistic components to make sure it meets B6 certification. Extensive steel armor plating is used for the entire occupant shell, including the doors, the A-, B- and C-pillars, the roof, the firewall and the rear bulkhead. Armoring prevents bullets from passing through door locks and the gaps where the doors are shut. On the doors where metal adjoins window glass, a meticulously tested labyrinth system prevents bullets from entering the cabin.
The armoring process itself involves the removal of the entire interior, including the dash, and the installation of high-strength steel plates around the passenger compartment and the greenhouse. Perhaps the toughest parts of the car to armor are the doors, not only because of the heavy ballistic glass windows which must move up and down, but because of the gain in door thickness and the stress on the door frames themselves. Doors are reinforced, and entirely new electric motors are installed in the doors for power windows, in addition to motors that enable the doors themselves to close automatically. Next comes the windshield, which is replaced with ballistic glass, adding several hundred pounds to the weight of the car. The ballistic glass itself is a sandwich of laminated glass and polycarbonate material, and is easily the single heaviest element of the armoring package. Mezcal also adds underbody protection which can defeat grenades thrown under the car, as well as a self-sealing fuel tank.
Additional security upgrades include run-flat tires with a tire pressure warning system. To compensate for the additional weight that the armoring adds, the S 500 is fitted with reinforced suspension components and upgraded brakes.
All opaque/transparent areas of a B6 level armored S500 is protected against the following and all lesser weapons/ammunitions at 90 impact angle in accordance with the below specifications.
- Calibre 7.62 X 39 mm, FJ/PB/FeC, AK47 Kalashnikov

Did you consider asking Mercedes to get the car disassembled?
That would save a lot of time and work.
Just asking, why do you need armor?
Important Question? Will all of this fit in my Honda?
