— NRK (@NRKno) January 1, 2016This empty shell is all that remains of a 2014 Tesla Model S after it burnt to the ground while being charged in Norway. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but is being investigated.
The incident happened when the owner of the Model S plugged it in and left it for charging. On returning a short time later, the car was engulfed in flames. Firefighters had to use a special foam to combat the flames and to make the lithium batteries safe.
Luckily, nobody was injured.

Actually it is internal, because the battery inside, and therefore because of the heat burnt the car down from the inside out. So it had INTERNAL combustion.

I suspect that the the temporary Super Charger somehow was pushing 350 AC volts and not DC. This caused the fire. Wonder if it was hooked up correctly.
