The Clarke AWD1 Automotive Wheel Dolly Makes Moving Cars a Doddle

Working on a project car brings all sorts of challenges, not least when you need to move it around. This can be especially problematic if said car is lacking something important like, say, an engine.
That’s when you need something to fall back on – something like Clarke’s AWD1 Automotive Wheel Dollies, a simple but effective way of manoeuvring a car that can’t move under its own power, or when you need a little extra precision that you won’t get from executing a gazillion-point-turn.
Supplied in pairs, a full set of four provides almost infinite flexibility, allowing you to get a car turned around in a tight space with minimal effort. Simply jack the car up then position each dolly beneath a wheel before dropping it back down, and voila – by hand, a single person can now comfortably reposition the car without ever needing to get in it.

Thanks to the heavy-duty powder-coated steel construction and big, sturdy swivel castors, each dolly is rated to support up to 500kg, so a set of four can take the weight of some sizeable cars. Meanwhile, the 350mm wide wheel recesses are big enough to accept a huge range of tyre sizes, while protective guides on either side will keep the wheels secure while you move the car around. The castors are designed to be non-marking too, so you needn’t worry about scuffing up your garage floor.
Taking just four simple bolts per castor, they’re easily assembled and are lightweight and compact for easy storage when not in use, and if you don’t want to stretch to the full four, a single pair can still be used to individually move either end of the car. All in all, the AWD1 Wheel Dolly set is a great practical purchase for any serious auto project and proves that sometimes, the simplest solutions are the best.
