Assetto Corsa Has Been Delayed And Gamers Aren't Happy

PC gamers have been busy logging hours in Assetto Corsa for over a year now, while PS4 and Xbox One players have been waiting patiently for 22 April. However, the wait just got longer...
Assetto Corsa Has Been Delayed And Gamers Aren't Happy

Publisher 505 Games announced today that both PS4 and Xbox One releases of Assetto Corsa has been delayed until June. The game hits Europe on consoles 3rd June, and North America has to wait a a few more painful days until 7th June.

The publisher explained the need for more time to polish the game, which could be wise considering its competition is made of racing game giants like GT and Forza.

Just a few weeks ago, developer Kunos Simulazioni confirmed that the Xbox One game will run at 60fps offered on 900p, and the PS4 game will run at 60fps offered on 1080p. While the delay is understandably irritating for console gamers, it’s probably the best move for everyone. Assetto Corsa is entering the ring as a little guy with these enormous gaming titles, challenging their ranks.

This added time may give the game just what it needs to dethrone the major brands. As for PC players….they couldn’t be happier; more exclusive game time gives PC gamers greater opportunity to set and maintain their track records!

If you want a racing sim to pass the time on until assetto corse is released, Project cars is half off at the PlayStation store, and if you’re a PlayStation Plus member, it’s only $15.99

I know, because I just bought it :D

“Xbox One game will run at 60fps offered on 900p, and the PS4 game will run at 60fps offered on 1080p” I keep seeing these games that run better on PS4 and still somewhere people prefer the Xbox :D But I had any saying I’d ditch the console version altogether and not slow down the PC development.

900p on Xbox One and 1080p on PS4? I really don’t get it, both should get the same resolution. Either both gets 900p or 1080p. Boom. There you go.

Now for that, I really want some JDM cars there. :/

Xbox one is slightly less powerful, so that explains the difference

JDM update is confirmed, text taken from their 2016 plans: “It seems that AC fans never have enough of Japan: then, they might be glad to know that we are bringing you the Toyota Celica, Supra, AE86 and TS040 Hybrid, as well as the Nissan GT-R 34 Skyline and 350Z Nismo 2015! And the list might not be over, just let us work…”

remember the last time a racing game was delayed? remember it’s condition when it was finally released? i’m looking at you, project cars.

And if it was released earlier but with loads of bugs, there would be almost zero appeal.

This has Project Cars written all over it. I’ve played Assetto Corsa quite a bit on PC and, while it is quite good, it is light on content and options. Project Cars was in a similar state on PC when they kept delaying the official releases. The console ports ended up being buggy, poor performing, and difficult to hone in the controls.

I just hope that AC’s console release turns out better than PC’s did…
