it all started with a drive in my uncle’s (now mine) trans am, at the age of 4. The sound of that 350 will make anybody smile.

it all started when i was 3-4, i think, when my father first let me sit on his lap when he drive…. yes, it is dangerous and no, it is not on a public road…. it is in a parking lot and he power slides the car (old boxy toyota… i dont recall the model but i recall its boxyness) and the sparks ignites there and burns till today….

I always loved exotic supercars as a young’n (who doesn’t) but I started really getting into cars when I was around 12. My brother had an E30 325 and we used to hoon around the city all the time. I recall doing about 120 on the freeway with him at night. I loved the independence of being able to go anywhere and the feeling of speed lol. Flash forward to now I would’ve never thought I’d own three motorized vehicles and work in a high-end car shop before I was 18. I dont think I’ll be owning anymore vehicles anytime soon since I got my dream car recently. MK1 MR2… You know what I’m talking about astro hahaha. But who knows… I’m getting the itch to get back on two wheels…

It started when I was 5, my parents just divorced from each other and at that age it weighed alot to see my parents seperated. My dad took me with him at some sort of party who also happened to have an indoor karting. I was too young to drive in these karts so I just stood on the sideline while they drove around in circles. After a few races, my dad saw that I didn’t seem to happy, quite depressed even. So he went away for a little while leaving me with my uncle. After a while he came back with a race suit and a helmet. My dad set up some sort of buggy with 2 seats so there was one next to me. First few laps i could only control the pedals and the laps after that I could only steer, no pedals. After that race, I went on track again in the same buggy, but this time I controlled the pedals and the steering wheel. I had a blast! and so my depression went away as I found my love of karting. But the love of cars came much later. I was 17 and my best friend commited suicide. I was depressed for 2 years and eventually quit school. I never found a job I could hold. It usually took a few weeks before I got fired. Eventually I locked myself up in my room for a few months. My mom had enough and called my dad to help me out of my depression. So he did what he’s done many years ago, take me on track, this time in a car. It was Ferrari Track Days at Spa-Francorchamps and my dad knew a friend who owned a Ferrari. So I was seated next to my dad’s friend as he hit the gas pedal. I had such an adrenaline rush that I smiled again, after a few years of depression. After that my dad’s friend let me drive the Ferrari. Of course I had a blast! Now I study again for car technician, in weekends i’m in my dad’s garage and I have a part time job in a clothing company. I’m planning to get my racer’s license this summer. I love my dad and i’m very grateful for the racing world to exist, it really feels like those moments saved me :)

I remember when i was around 5-6 i used the massive car mats which has city’s and stuff on them, i was racing my little hot wheels cars around. I also had PS1 with some sick rally game that i loved, a formula 1 game and some derby/destruction game. I even painted my hot wheels cars with numbers and stirpes, because i thought it was ultra cool, and then it just grows on you, i built model cars, most of my family are also car people (Uncle has a S15, my mums dad was really into retro bmws (E30S, etc , etc) and also with internet i was able to reach out further into the car world and learen lots of new things and discover hundreds of cars, then with time you understand more, and you want to learn more and the cars you really like and desire

My grandpa was a car guy. He owned 4 Aston Martins over the course of his life. Two DB5’s before I was born, I’ve only seen them in pictures, a 1971 and 1979 DBS-V8. My dad was a car guy. His stories of drag and road racing in the early days of hot rodding in 1950s American mid west always kept my attention. I guess it’s in my blood.
