The Last Ever McLaren P1 Has Just Rolled Off The Production Line
See that lovely orange beast on the right in the picture above? That’s the last ever McLaren P1. The 903bhp hybrid hypercar - powered by McLaren’s now familiar 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor - actually sold out before the first car was delivered, such was demand, but it’s taken Woking until now to meticulously piece together all 375 examples.
Production of the track-only P1 GTR will continue until early 2016, but after that, this generation of McLaren’s ‘Ultimate Series’ range of cars will come to an end. As with when production of the Porsche 918 Spyder (one of the P1’s arch rivals, as you should know by now) ended, this has us wondering about the future. Where will McLaren go for its next hypercar? Perhaps an even more powerful car? Maybe a smaller engine and more electric power?
The P1, 918 and the LaFerrari have all pushed the boundaries of what we expect from hypercars - both in their raw numbers and the way they achieve them - so it’ll be fascinating to see where the trio of manufacturers go next.
What are your predictions for the P1’s successor?

Its orange.
It’s the part of their heritage. ;)
2017 McLaren P1 Series II? P1.1? P2? P1 Mark 2? P1 Nostalgia Edition?
not a fan of the P1 color to the right but i think the “silverstone metallic” P1 to the left is nice
it’s basically a prius
(sits back and waits for hate comments)
If you’re rich, buy one before they go astronomical like the F1.
I hope mclaren will make an SUV
with a P1 design
990 HP from 2.0 V18
4WD
0-100 km/h in 2.2 sec
top speed 460 km/h (limited)
price: less than a vauxhall astra diesel
Predictions for successor? Bigger Active Aero Capabilities. and more electric power.
Am I the only one who isn’t that bothered about this lol ? Or am I now hated for saying this
Keonnigzeg or however it’s spelled is being left out of the conversation yet again, although it betters all the “arch rivals” in this conversation by quite a margin.
Koenigsegg themselves said they don’t care that they aren’t compared, though it is pretty odd that they never are. I think their cars speak for themselves, the people who buy Koenigsegg are buying it for the car not the brand recognition. I like the fact that I can talk to people who don’t know as much about cars, and blow thier mind either the Koenigsegg when they’ve heard about the Porsche Ferrari and McLaren. Don’t get me wrong I still love the P1 and everything the guys make but Koenigsegg is like an ace in the hole that no one sees coming and I love that. I think Koenigsegg does too.
375?! I have 400 of those bad boys in Forza…
What do you have to say bout’ that, atheists?
