I have an '09 Mini Cooper S R56. Plastic burning smell?

I noticed it a couple of days ago — it shows up a few minutes after ignition and gets worse with time/engine heat. No overheating indicators or anything. I’ve heard the plastic bag on exhaust theory but haven’t had time to lift it and check. Any other ideas?

Check under the car, probably a plastic bag melted in the exhaust. Same happened with my mom’s car a while ago. If it’s a melted plastic bag, I will warn you that it’s really hard to remove.

So I have heard. If that is the issue, I’ll just get as much as I can, and then burn the rest off at the track. :D
