911 Metzger Engine in GT86 ?!

after reading a bit about all the mods and the engine swaps on the GT86/BRZ/FRS brothers i had a thought and i can’t deside if its brilliant or idiotic. Lets put a 911 metzger engine from something like a 996 gt3 or a base 911 engine like from a 997 C2S in a GT86… it will not alter the personality of the car all that much and it will give it all the power needed… money-wise it is an idiotic suggestion but i think that could be one of the coolest engine swaps

the car will still have a very low center of gravity, it will remain naturally aspired and it willl have the power it always needed

I say it’s good idea, then again i’d suggest putting a massive turbo in the stock GT86.

I’ve also thought of something similar to this, but along the lines of a 997 GT2 Engine in a Liberty/Legacy. You know, keeping with a flat-6 but also giving out BUCKETLOADS of power!! the ultimate sleeper!

What trans would you use, cause factory has transverse mounted, that would make the car FWD…

is it possible that the gearbox for the GT86 could handle the power? i think it might be, as all the turbo conversion i’ve seen, and some are north of 400hp the standart gearbox so i’d just might try to connect the porsche engine with the subaru gearbox and hope for the best

better of using the EZ30 from the Legacy 3.0R if you want a flat 6 as it’d be a much easier install

it would be less powerful. You are right it would be easier though, but…
