1986 Volkswagen Golf GTD

Like any other project car, its a never ending story. Originally it was my grandfathers Golf, which he had bought after owning a mk1. In my childhood I had spent lot of time in this car and so I have many great memories with it. After my grandfather passed away, my dad gave me a choice what to do with the Golf. Having a fond memories with this car made my choice easy. Keep it, restore it and have it as my first car.
My plans were to restore the bodywork from rust, repaint the whole car and have a stock looking GTD*/GTI. By now, the car has been repainted and put back together. Also the rusty steelies needed a to be replaced, so I found original BBS RA 15’ rims to sustain the original look of my Golf.
In future I plan to overhaul the engine and the chassis.

GTD*- Turbo diesel version of GTI. Same chassis and styling, but lower on power and higher on MPG.
