I'm considering doing a 3SGE BEAMS engine for my AE86 when possible. Opinions?
The engine was used in the Toyota Altezza in Japan and they usually cost about $3000 USD for an Altezza front clip (makes it easier since everything I need should be there) and another $1000 to ship it, $600 for the mounting kit, anda whole lot of wiring XD

I like the 20v 4AGE more than the 3SGE because it looks more right.
At one point I had a 3SGE equipped Toyota Curren while I was on Okinawa. It was a 3rd gen motor though, so it wasn’t BEAMS and didn’t have VVTI, and only made 170hp. It had a 4AGE sound to it and was still pretty peppy but the car was FWD, and ugly. Glad I got away from that.

20v 4age is the only way
I like it, goos power/good sound and keeping it as a Toyota :)

Hey! I got to sit in that AE86! The guy who owns it is a genius, super cool guy.
Just sitting in that car was a dream come true.

Awesome! Only problem is parts. most are quite expensive. The BEAMS can reach 280 hp in NA form, so that should be a riot.
