Spada Codatronca #blogpost

The Codatronca was an Italian supercar project made by Spada Vetture Sport and was made in to two different models: The TS and the Monza. In this blogpost I am mainly going to be writing about the TS and briefly about the Monza.

The Codatranca TS was introduced in 2008 and featured unique styling, with inspiration from the gorgeous Alfa Romeo TS (Tubolare Zagato) from 1963.

The construction:

The cars construction itself was a 2-door supercar with the engine supplied by GM with the 7-litre LS7 V8 engine. However, instead of the “normal” LS7 output of 505 bhp, the TS is instead produced 630 bhp. Another thing lent from GM was the cars chassis, which were donated by the C6 Corvette. However, the chassis featured all new carbon-fibre panels, making it very light at only 1360 kg.

The performance:

With the combination of a high power output and a good and light chassis, the car could manage a 0-100 km/h in just 3,4 seconds all the way up to an incredible top speed of 340 km/h. But even with these extreme figures, it still wasn’t enough for Spada, as there was rumor’s about an even faster TSS variant.

The Spada Codatronca Monza

The Spada Codatranca Monza was technically just a TS with a supercharger and of course no roof, no windows, no A-pillars, no nothing. This meant that the car now produced 710 bhp., was 50 kg lighter and now had no windshield, meaning it is useless (James May logic). And all of this was apparently worth 280 grand (dollars) more than a TS.

My review:

So how did it do? Well that is a hard question, as Spada never mentioned their’s expectations. But if you would ask me, i wouldn’t be suprized to find out if it was a giant flop. Because i would never buy something that was practically “just” a Corvette with some higher figures and new body panels for respectively 420.000 $ (TS) and 700.000 $ (Monza). At such a hugh pricetag i would expect a V12 by Amg or a V8 tuned by Yamaha, not a LS tuned by some Italian dudes in a shed. And to bee fair i dont even like the design and cant really find the similarities to the originally Alfa Romeo TZ.

Thx for reading my second #blogpost, plz give me some feedback, and correct any mistakes.

And a big thanks to @BringaCaterhamToMARS for feedback and correction of my first blogpost.

Ayy!
Still a couple grammar mistakes here and there (in the third paragraph mainly,if you want I can point them all out tomorrow), but a very nice blogpost overall!
I also really appreciate how you’ve talked about a car you don’t even like that much, just because you thought it would’ve been an interesting topic.
Not the average behavior,at all.
Hats off!

The rear looks like it was inspired by the F117 Nighthawk.

The front end kinda looks like a more aggressive version of the Disco Volante’s front bumper.
