1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427/450HP 4 Speed

It was late at night, and I couldnt sleep, I opened the computer and browsed hemmings, ebay, auto scout, as I always did at night. When suddenly, there She was, I still remember the first picture I saw on ebay. the bidders were within a couple of 1000 dollars of the buy it now tag.

I thought of all the cars that slipped away, and I didnt want this one to go, I knew if I didn`t go for it, in the morning she would have been gone. This car is a sensation, the side pipes are amazing, the big Block 427 pulls like a train and the car only weighs 1430kg….the engine was dynoed in 2004 at around 440-460hp… the skinny tires are a handfull. but I think they fit the classic look. Manual steering, manual brakes, a real drivers car!

Thanks! The rest of my friends don`t care about cars, but the support on CT makes up for everything!

Thanks a bunch! gotta keep the american spirit alive in the alps, and finally I got a muscle car that can actually go around a corner and not fall apart….. Some people actually say the small block versions handle much better,…….I was tempted, but 427 is more then 327, and as we all know, more is just better ….POWEEEER :-)

Absolutely beautiful piece of art! BTW, I don’t mean to be nosy, but how much was it? Must’ve been hella expensive…

to be honest, I was about to give up, because all the cars in range were just in a poor state….but this one amazes me everyday. for what I payed I didn`t expect such perfection(in my eyes…), the other day I was driving and I tried the cigarette lighter ( which on every previous car I had was broken) and behold, it was working! it even charges my phone! I know this must sound like irrelevant details but such things are what make a car desirable and justify the price ….

Always rooting for detroit iron! Funny thing about american classics, if you drive around with a jaguar or austin healey people don`t care or mostly judge, but if you drive around in an american classic everybody gives you thumbs up and positive nods, I just love the positiveness people have towards american classics!

I agree, except that the car was built in Saint Louis, Missouri. :)

well…..I sorta agree with you, never been a corvette guy ( except the C2)………..but, and here comes a big one…..I do think the early, chrome bumper C3, deserves a bit of love…. what do you think?
