My first car! 1997 BMW 316i compact. Not best color or engine, but it has a heart! Oh, and no license... yet

I am 18 and have had the car for a few months and driven it with a companion, i bought it before i discovered CarThrottle :c HOWEVER! i just passed the theoretical test so all i have left is my driving test, EASY!

I myself also own an BMW E36 316i compact, but with an M43B19 engine from an Z3 !

Nice! The thing i love about it so far is that it is really reliable and feels great to drive! only bad thing about the drive is that the clutch needs to be released alot more than i was used to :c (my mothers toyota corolla verso) but it is just a habit ;)

Hi friends! I’m Alessio from italy. She looks more or less the same of my mama BMW 316i Compact Carving. Anybody knows how to make the maintenance of this beautiful car or any eventual critical point? All advices and suggestions will be really appreciated! Many thanks in advance!

1.6 102ps or 1.9 105ps?

1.9 can do some drifts too and is a good mileage engine (maximum torque at 2500rpm) but that 1.6 has almost no power under 3500rpm and can get thirsty when you floor it.

It’s the 1.6 with 102ps and its a really good and thirsty car so far, served me well when i started to practice driving :) it has run 215 000 km but the last owner was a mechanic so it has been taken care of ;) Im not that much into the color, but i got it for cheap and repainting it would cost more than i gave for the car itself so im fine with it :)BTW, maxxis pro 1 tires, so it feels like driving on a cloud :D
