Here's a race I just learned about. Back in 1968, and possibly a few other times in the '60s, there was a race called the 84-hour Marathon de la Route. At the Nurburgring. 84 hours. Nurburgring. Epic.
To bring some information; in 1969 a team from Argentina competed in that race with 3 Renault Torino, only one of them could finish the race and it was the car that did more laps around the circuit. It completed 334 laps around the circuit againts Lancia that completed 322, BMW that did 318 and Triumph that completed 315 laps. But at the end, the argentinian car was penalized beacuse it made some laps with the exhaust broken, so technically the winner was Lancia. Here is a pic of the cars
