Has anyone done this mod to their S2000 exhaust?

I love the look and the sound of my AP2’s exhaust, i just wish it was that tiny little bit louder… and this mod claims to do just that. By adding a smaller diameter connection between the main input pipe into the loop going through the muffler you allow some of your exhaust gas to bypass some of the muffler.

I just want to know if anyone has done this and what it sounded like? Did you lose any performance in doing it?

I have no experience with this, but i dont think thats a good idea.
I think you would lose some Power.. but as i said, no experience with that
If you want a good sound you should buy an aftermarket exhaust.
The HKS Hi-Power Dual is louder then the original and a lot of people claim that they have the best sound.
I personally had a Remus dual - which has a good sound and is louder than the OEM, a Skunk2 Megapower Dual - really nice sound but way too loud and now i have a HKS Hi-Power Single exit - louder than the Dual Version plus i like the looks of a single and the loudness is between the remus & skunk2.

What about the Invidia exhaust Moog had on his S2K?

I’ve had a look at a whole bunch of aftermarket exhausts, but the problem is they all have a fairly loud ‘drone’. The S2000 revs pretty high when you’re cruising at highway speeds, so the exhaust needs to kinda shut up when I’m just driving around at 70-80 mph, but wake up when I put my foot down.

I haven’t done it to my car but i did look into it. I decided to go with header, test pipe, catback :D but the the mod is called the "UK Mod". If you’re looking for slightly more grunt then this will do the trick and as far as I’m aware you don’t lose power. Here is a video comparing different piping diameter for the mod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfQbUBeImBg. And if you want more information I’m sure the S2Ki forums will have some for you!
