Bored? Try Toyota Japan's amazing configurator!! (With guide)

Die boredom..Die,

Probably you are scrolling through CT, cursing the reposts and seeking for fun. Searching for a quiz? Perhaps an article or a game? Well. The savior is here, he is Toyota Japan’s epic visualizer!

Before starting I’d like to dedicate this post to this article on gtplanet because it is the reason why I made this post today, because when I read it like one year ago I was charmed by the visualizer and options…

How do I access the visualizer?

Easy, just follow these steps:

#1: Go to Toyota Japan’s website.

#2: Pick a car body style or click the red rectangle that is highlighted to see all cars.
NOTE: K cars (next to the 86 in the picture below) do not have a visualizer, however, they can be modified in Daihatsu’s website!

#3: Pick a car, some cars do not have a visualizer (in addition to K cars) like the HiAce, Century and Crown Comfort. The C-HR and the new Prius Alpha probably because they are not released yet.

I picked the LC 200 for demonstration.

#4: Head to the marked tab.

If this appears, just click the second one, for most models this won’t pop up.

If you are lost just keep on navigating till you make it to this page.

#5: select the gray rectangle that says “3D”

And that’s it!!

But wait!

Toyota has an updated page for newer cars!

Still easy to navigate, for the Mark X, Tank and Roomy do the following:

#1: Go to this tab, once you are in just scroll down until..

#2: .. you make it here. Then click on “3D” and that’s it!

And now… The configurator

What makes this configurator so special? Well, the vast options, trims and dress up parts are a huge fun and really fun to mess with, for every car there special parts tailored for that vehicle which can be whacky, now. I’ll show you the evolution of my LC200.

I picked the highest trim which is ZX, it comes with a good selection of colors alongside six interior options -which we cant see, unfortunately- and pretty amazing standard options.!!

Now for the interesting part.

Parts include factory options and accessories alongside dress-up kits from Toyota’s very own Modellista which usually offers stylish parts, and tuning company Jaos, which offers off-road parts for your LC and for the FJ Cruiser too!!

As you can see above, I encrusted the LC in Modellista parts and some accessories like the black grille, you CANT do that in Toyota’s US website!!

In other cars like the Mark X, TRD offers sporty parts to design your car with, the most common TRD parts include TRD badging and clear blinkers.

Unfortunately, for some reason you cannot mix Modellista and TRD parts
Boo!

One whacky example is the Vitz (Yaris for anything but Asia), you ca have a friggin 4WD in that!! In the rest of the world some SUV’s do not come with a 4WD layout while in Japan this compact car puts it to shame!

After heavy modifications, this is the result.

Just stunning!! And you can do a lot more than what I did, the most amazing Yaris I’ve ever seen!! Tailored to my wants and is 4WD, I think that Toyota should spread this configurator all over the world.

G Sports cars

Want to do the Yaris some justice? Take the G sports version, stunning aero and performance parts alongside nice options= a true beast.

Toyota can dominate the market with G sports cars but they want to keep them in japan, apparently.

The range extends to minivans and the Harrier, the Toyota version of the Lexus RX.

Drawbacks:

Free customization means many probabilities, for example this Sienta has seen things for sure.

Another problem is ricing

This Toyota Isis looks stunning, but it does not live up to the looks as it is not really powerful, it’s just a minivan.

As I mentioned above, you cannot mix Modellista and TRD parts which can lead to some disappointments.

As you can see here, I cannot mix the Modellista body kit with the TRD wheels in this Prado which is a huge disappointment because I think that they will look amazing with each other.

Finally, not all cars have this visualizer which is unfortunate because I want to modify the Century for example.
But other cars make up for the empty hole, good job guys at Toyota Japan!!!

And that’s a wrap!! Hope that you enjoyed the configurator and the post because I did this for your amusement, please leave suggestions to improve my articles and THANK YOU for reading till this point.

I might do Honda Japan next and then a Top 10 best Configurators

See you in another post!!

Did they really named a car “Isis”?

Likely named after the Egyptian deity, rather than the terrorist organisation.

It looks interesting too bad its in Japanese.

Its fun to just pick a car and try to chuck on all of the parts at once.
