Summary:
Our first contestant Ford Fiesta has been one of the top selling hatchback car since going sale in 2008. This car has been dominating in the automotive industry due to its versatility, comfort and driving enjoyment. We say this car is one of the best but not the best one.
2017 model of Chevrolet Sonic has refreshing new updates which comes in a sportier look. However, the five seated hatchback has some drawbacks in point of performance and driving.
This year Nissan Versa so far doesn’t confirm about any upgrades. But the 2016 model is quite well built and its practicality is one of its best thing to consider this car.
Styling:
Ford Fiesta 2016 model produced by copying and mixing the structure of Ford Focus and Mondeo. Spacious and versatile, the Ford Fiesta is an easy supermini to live with and has some clever tech – but the dashboard is dating and outdated.
Chevrolet Sonic is representing a quantum leap forward from its predecessor Chevrolet Aveo. This car scores points which included its sharp styling, sprightly handling, generous interior space.
The Nissan Versa comes with S, S Plus, SV and SL trim levels which is quite unique from its rival. All these models offered in two variants in body styles. Yes, Nissan Versa comes both in hatchback and in a sedan type.
Interior & Exterior:
Ford Fiesta has the striking design compared to its rival Chevrolet Sonic and Nissan Versa. Overall style is sporty and its distinctive LED powers up with it entry level cars. It has an attractive interior; the dashboard has number of small buttons which looks similar to the dashboard of Volkswagen Polo. Sound system is peculiarly good as the automaker opt for Sony.
Chevrolet Sonic has built-in basic dashboard. Drivers can easily feel the comfort of leathery upholstery and an attractive sport steering wheel. The base dashboard has a CD/MP3 player with 4 speakers and an auxiliary audio input, and higher trims add 2 extra speakers, satellite radio, and a USB port.
The new Nissan Versa is unique that the interior is sound proofed. Heated seats are now standard on this car while all trims receive larger cup holders. Dashboard is equipped with USB audio input; the port has been relocated to a more convenient position at the front of the center console.
Practicality:
The Ford Fiesta get adequate headroom and legroom in front and rear seats, but it doesn’t provide adequate amount space when compared to its rival. Boot has 290 liters which is quite good; if we keep tire repair equipment’s it will get reduced to 270 liters boot space which is a disappointing one.
Chevrolet Sonic offers with 47.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seatbacks folded.
Nissan versa has the least cargo space at this class which provides only 18.8 cubic feet of space.
Driving:
Don’t expect too much in engine performance when it comes to hatchbacks.
Ford Fiesta engine is equipped with only 1.0-liter turbo Eco Boost that provides maximum of 98 horse power. Although this powers the car and reach maximum of 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 11.2 seconds which is quite good for a one-liter engine. This is good enough for safe overtaking as well.
Chevrolet Sonic is far better when compared to engine capacity. With a 1.4 liter turbocharged managed to have 6-speed manual transmission.
Nissan Versa Note gets its grunt from a 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder (I4) power plant that puts out 109 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque. Which competes the above rivals.
Safety Measures:
Chevrolet Sonic comes with a returning standard safety apparatus including a daytime running lights, OnStar emergency telematics, and a post-collision safety system, and a remote antitheft alarm. Chevrolet Sonic Premier provides front fog/driving lights. Safety options aboard provides higher trims including lane-departure warnings and forward collision alert this makes Sonic very conscious about safety.

This comes only with basic front-disc/rear-drum antilock braking (ABS) and supplemental airbags on all trims; higher trims also boast standard front fog/driving lights, turn-signal-integrated mirrors, and a remote antitheft alarm.

Ford Fiesta has a five-star Euro NCAP rating and a host of features including the clever MyKey mean the Fiesta always feels safe for the users. There is active city stop a system that automatically applies the brakes if it detects an about to happen low speed crash.
Value for Money:
Ford Fiesta is selling at AED 60,000 on UAE roads. Sonic is very less when compared to Fiesta which is priced at AED 51,000. Nissan Versa is selling at AED 47,000 which far less and affordable.
Verdict:
If you want attractive styling, fantastic to drive you can go for Fiesta. As its versatility, style, economy and driving fun, makes the Ford Fiesta hard to beat.
With fully functional safety features Chevrolet Sonic is best to buy at this price.
If you go for a budget car this Nissan Versa is the best to buy. As Versa doesn’t offer much in the way of bonus or in performance, but Nissan’s 2017 Versa Note subcompact hatchback is long on value, perfect for the urban-dwelling family on a budget.
