11 Christmas Gift Ideas for Car Guys who Don't Have Cars Yet
It’s that time of the year again. Giving gifts and spending time with family. For us Petrolheads, we look forward to get things for our cars such as car parts, washing tools, zip ties, etc. But, there are also many other petrolheads who don’t have a car yet or are too young for a license yet. Here are some gift ideas to give petrolheads who don’t have cars yet.
1. Takata Bride Bag
This one is more directed towards the JDM fans. These bags are made to look like a Bride bucket seat with Takata harnesses. After 1 year of owning this bag, I think it’s a great gift to give. The Bride part of the bag is made out of the real Bride Graduation Material. It has 2 main compartments and 1 compartment for a laptop. The bag is big and can fit many things, though I don’t recommend using this to carry heavy school books. My bag’s straps started to fall off after carrying 5kg of books everyday. It’s still a good bag and a great gift idea for any JDM loving petrolhead.
2. Bride Wallet
Another Bride/Takata Bucket Seat themed gift. The Bride wallet has real Bride Graduation Material and leather. I also have one of these and I have been using it for a while now. My wallet has 6 compartments, but I saw another version with more. The wallet comes in 3 different colour combinations; beige and light grey, light grey and black and a full red one. I have no complaints about it other than the fact that the money compartment is a little small and Indonesian Rupiah (And maybe some other currencies with big bills) is hard to fit in. It is a great gift for any petrolhead.
3. Formula Drift x Takata Harness Wallet
Following with the Takata/Bride Bucket Seat theme, here’s a Takata Harness themed wallet. Hand woven out of Takata Green seatbelt webbing, the wallet is a great gift for any JDM or Drift fan. The wallet is a limited edition item though, and it costs around $100. It is awesome anyway and whoever gets this as a gift will surely love it.
4. Diecast Scale Model Cars
Scale model cars come in many different shapes and sizes, so it’s easy to find one that’s perfect for whoever the recipient is. They can be easily found and are a great gift for all ages of petrolheads. A younger petrolhead might like Hot Wheels or a smaller scale model, while an older petrolhead might enjoy some of the more detailed models like from AutoArt for example. Some scale models are cheaper or more detailed than others and can be affordable for any budget.
5. Car Model Kit
A car model kit is just like a normal car model, except that you build it yourself. These models let you paint and assemble the car parts yourself and you can even add your own parts and modify the cars! Building one of these models can help the recipient learn about car parts and how a car works so that when they have a car, they will have an idea on how to fix or replace parts. If you do want to give this, you might want to also give a hobby knife, paint and glue.
6. Xbox One
This one is an expensive gift idea but is definitely worth it. There are many games that any petrolhead can enjoy on the Xbox like Forza, The Crew, Project Cars, etc. The Xbox One is not just a great gift for car guys, but for anyone too. I recommend getting an Xbox instead of a PS4 for gamers because of…
7. Any Forza Game
Forza Games are some of my favourite games of all time. With hundreds of cars and customisation options, Forza is a must have for any petrolhead with an Xbox. Forza Motorsport is more for the racing fans, while Forza Horizon can be enjoyed by all types of petrolheads.
8. Forza Horizon 3 Blizzard Mountain
The Blizzard Mountain expansion for Forza Horizon 3 is a great gift idea. It includes, snow, blizzards, a mountain, 8 cars and many hours of fun. It really feels like you’re driving on snow. Great gift for anyone with Forza Horizon 3.
9. Racing Wheel + Pedals
This gift idea is a bit on the expensive side, but it’s perfect for any hardcore racing game fan. Using a steering wheel on a racing game can help whoever gets this to learn to drive before they get a real car. After a while of using a wheel, my drifting in Forza became better. It takes some time to get used to but when you do, it will feel great. You need a table or a wheel stand to mount the wheel on and a good chair.
10. Razor Crazy Cart
This one is a bit crazy. The Razor Crazy Cart is a cart that you can drift. Powered by a 500 Watt electric motor, the Crazy Cart has a top speed of 15mph. It is insanely fun to ride and any petrolhead would love it.
11. Track Sculptures
Track Sculptures are wall mounted sculptures that are shaped to form a racetrack. There are hundreds of tracks available to choose from and they look great. They are a bit expensive, but really cool. A racing fan would love this on their wall. They also sell track decals, wood murals and art prints.
Well that’s all! Thanks for reading this blogpost. If you have any other gift suggestions feel free to comment them. Feedback would be appreciated!

Shame this is a few weeks late :(, shipping takes too long to be in time for christmas
Yea I was away and had the idea of this. Too bad I didn’t bring my laptop so I couldn’t write it earlier
1) a car
Hahaha
For the price of an XBOX one you can get a Lada 2105 or 2107 in a good shape with all the paperwork.
Also, for petrolheads with no car that want to have a hands on experience a cheap used car in respectable condition or even tools, could be added to the list nice article nonetheless ;)
Very good post ! Can you make part 2? I want to see more…
Also here are a few suggestions : a Turbocharger keychain (or something else Car related), posters, a gift card from any circuit nearby etc…
A driving license
Anyone else immediately start looking at the crazy cart for themselves? ridiculous maximum weight of 63kg…
well it will make you a good tuner. you will start the weight reduction on yourself.
I orderd a bride wallet and some other stuff a few months ago from tunercult. But It didn’t come with the package. I e mailed them the packaging slip. Got a response saying “i will forward this to my manager” never heard of them again. More emails were ignored. SO DONT ORDER FROM TUNERCULT EVER.
