Most outdated US market cars today

There have been many new cars released in the past 2 years, from the Bugatti Chiron to the lowly Smart ForTwo. The last few years have brought huge technological innovations in cars: Tesla is now putting level 5 autonomous self-driving hardware in all their cars, Chevrolet revealed the electric Bolt with a 238 mile range, and engine downsizing, semi-autonomous driving features, futuristic infotainment systems, unibody platforms, crossovers, and turbos have been sweeping the market. But not all car models have followed these trends. Some models only got minimal tweaks, or have even remained unchanged for almost a decade! I will give a few examples of the most outdated cars on sale in the US today. Remember, not all these cars are necessarily bad, they are just falling behind the times, trends, and technologies of today.

The first vehicle is the Toyota Sequoia. It hasn’t been changed since its launch in 2007.

Of course we can’t forget the Nissan Frontier, unchanged since its launch in 2005.

Nissan also has the 370Z, launched in 2009, which has been essentially forgotten about.

The Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain will (finally) get a redesign that is rumoured to be unveiled at the 2017 Detroit auto show. When the Traverse’s Buick Enclave twin will get its redesign is currently unknown.

The Dodge Journey: Even though it got the new Connect infotainment system, virtually nothing else has changed for over 7 years. Time for a replacement, Dodge!

And of course, we can’t forget the Mitsubishi Lancer. We don’t even know if it will actually see a new generation. Mitsubishi’s entire lineup is lagging behind the competition, and we don’t even know how much longer Mitsubishi will actually survive in the US market. Its days may be numbered.

There are a few more outdated cars still on sale in the US, but I can’t include them all in this post. Comment below if you came up with any cars (it doesn’t have to be US market!) that you think are outdated. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope you enjoyed this post!

The Sequoia is a case of “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”

Don’t they make a land cruiser 70 series in Australia?

The 70 series is one of the last proper off-roaders

Same for the toyota tacoma. That has been around for years and years, yet they all still look the same or slightly different.

Not necessarily all of them, as an earlier user commented “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Some I agree, should be replaced!

Even the 350Z looks relatively new - far newer than early-gen Audi TTs.
