5 most insane cars produced by Hennessey

After seeing the 1000 HP Challenger from earlier today, I thought about my Top 5 most insane Hennessey creations and so (after some irritations on Salomondrin.com) here they are.

Number 5: Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 "Exorcist"

Built at about the same time Dodge revealed the Demon, the Exorcist is based on the Camaro ZL1, but after Hennessey is done with it, it becomes a full fledged drag strip killer. It’s making 1000 HP, some 160 HP more than the Demon, and like the Demon, features road legal drag radials. Here is the list of modifications and upgrades straight from Hennessey’s website
• High-flow Supercharger System
• Custom HPE Camshaft
• Ported Cylinder Heads
• Upgraded Valve Springs and Retainers
• Upgraded Intake valves & Exhaust Valves
• Upgraded Lifters and Pushrods
• High Flow Intercooling System
• Intercooler Heat Exchanger Upgrade
• Long-tube Stainless Steel Headers
• Stainless Steel Midpipes
• High Flow Catalytic Converters
• All Necessary Gaskets & Fluids
• Professional Installation
• HPE Engine Management Calibration
• Dyno Tuning & Road Testing
• Serial-Numbered Dash & Engine Plaques
• Hennessey Exterior Badging
• Hennessey Premium Floormats
• 2 Year / 24,000 Mile Limited Warranty

Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat HPE1000

Where as the Excorcist is about as evil as it gets, this is a little more subtle. Really, the only way to tell this is a Hellcat HPE1000, are the Hennessey Logos scattered throught the body. With 1012 HP and 969 LB-FT of torque, this thing runs 9s in the 1/4. Throw a set of radials on there and you might be in the low 9s, high 8s. Here are the list of mods that go into making a Hellcat make 1012 HP
• 4.5L Supercharger system producing 14 psi boost
• High-flow air induction system
• Stainless steel long tube headers
• High-flow supercharger bypass valve
• Upgraded high-flow fuel injectors
• Boost-a-pump factory fuel pump upgrade
• HPE engine management upgrade & chassis dyno calibration
• Professional installation
• All necessary gaskets & fluids
• Chassis dyno testing. You’ll receive a before & after dyno graph report showing power and torque measured at the rear wheels
• Road testing (up to 200 miles)
• Hennessey exterior badge (rear)
• HPE1000 Powered by Hennessey badges (side & rear)
• Hennessey HPE1000 serial numbered plaque signed by John Hennessey (interior)
• Hennessey HPE1000 serial numbered plaque signed by the HPE technician who builds you car (engine bay)
• Powered by Hennessey premium floor mats
• 1 Year / 12,000 mile limited warranty. Contact a Hennessey Performance sales associate for more details.
• Shell V-Power 93 octane gasoline
• Pennzoil Ultra Platinum synthetic oil & filter change

Number 3: Ford Shelby GT350R HPE1200R

Do you ever find that the Ford GT350R isn’t fast enough for you? That it lacks in the power department (although 526 hp isn’t exactly lacking)? Well, thanks to the HPE1200R upgrade, all your problems can be fixed. With the kit installed, your car will have two snails on each bank of cylinders boosting power to a much better 1203 HP and a rather large 1032 LB-FT of torque. This is for the sort of person who has a track meet at 2 but a drag meet at 3. Here is what goes into making a GT350R make it’s huge power
• Twin Turbo system
• 850 HP on 93 octane fuel
• 1000 HP on 104 octane racing fuel
• 1200 HP on C16 racing fuel
• Boost controller
• 11.0:1 compression aluminum piston
upgrade
• Extreme duty connecting rods
• Balanced & blueprinted engine assembly
(retains factory flat-plane crankshaft)
• Upgraded clutch
• High flow fuel injectors
• Fuel pump upgrade
• Ported factory cylinder heads
• High flow air induction system
• All gaskets & fluids
• Professional installation
• Engine management calibration
• Chassis dyno testing
• Road testing up to 200 miles
• Serial numbered plaque
• Exterior badges

Number 2: Hennessey Venom GT

I bet you were expecting this to go to Number one, but that vehicle is absurd. even crazier (I think) than the Venom GT. Now I am sure that everyone has heard of the GT. After all, it’s the world’s fastest production car and production car convertible, taking the trophy from the Bugatti Veyron SS and Veyron Vitesse reaching a top speed of 270 and 265 mph, respectively. a Using a 7.0L Twin turbo V8, this insane contraption of an engine makes 1244 HP going to the rear wheels through a good, old-fashioned 6 speed manual.

Number one: Ford F-150 Velociraptor 6x6

Now the Venom GT was crazy, but this, this is the craziest thing Hennessey makes in my opinon. Although Hennessey hasn’t published an exact figure, the website says that it has over 600 HP thanks to new turbos, stainless steel exhaust modifications, upgraded front mounted air to air intercooler and plumbing and re-tuned factory computer. In addition to the power mods, there is also another axle which is impossible to miss. Unless you are blind. Other upgrades include:
Brembo front & rear brake upgrade
Larger wheels and tires
Armoring options
As well as a bespoke interior

Shame that you’d never get one finished as it gets fished for parts for his father-in-law’s car

Not hating, that’s just the truth with Hennessey

I like Salomondrin his vids. I also understand his views on the brand Hennessey. In some ways he is right. I do like the fact that H. is pushing boundaries in speed and HP. Driving a Hennessey tuned car is cool.
