Turbo Lag vs Boost Threshold - What's The Difference?

I am a simple man, I see turbo, boost and related words and I watch

Turbo lag : Most awesome acceleration you will ever feel (if it’s a powerful car)
Boost threshold : VTEC but actually works and gives power

It’s so satisfying how the white board is perfectly aligned with the edges of the visual screen.
