Liberty Walk Is Widebodying A Lamborghini Countach - Sorry Purists

If there’s one thing Liberty Walk is very good at, it’s winding up purists. Back in 2022, the Japanese widebody specialists cut up a Ferrari F40 to create an LM-like tribute, but one that some (certainly not us) would cry sacrilege for. Now, it’s turning its attention to another Italian classic supercar.

Set to be unveiled in full at the Tokyo Auto Salon on January 12, its latest creation has seen a Lamborghini Countach given the trademark LB Works treatment. Its ‘teaser’ video ahead of the show gives quite a lot away, mind you.

It looks to be based on a 25th Anniversary Countach based on the slats in the air intakes and late-model taillights, albeit now even wider thanks to some staunch arch extensions. A glance at the front of the car reveals a Diablo GT-R-esque front bumper with a huge splitter and carbon fibre canards, while the rear is treated to a gigantic diffuser.

A new quad-exit exhaust looks sure to give the naturally-aspirated V12 a serious increase in decibels, the pipes sitting under a serious rear wing mounted with the typical Liberty Walk H-shaped pillars. Rounding out the package looks to be a set of Rohana Forged wheels and, as you’d expect of anything LB, a fully-stickered livery.

It remains to be seen if Countach this will be a one-off show car, or if Liberty Walk plans to offer the kit to its customers. If the F40 is to go by, we’d expect this to remain a one-of-a-kind but those with pockets deep enough and a Countach they’re willing to cut up could surely pique the tuner’s interest.
