The Last Bugatti Veyron Coupe Ever Made Is For Sale And It's Going To Be Expensive

We like to see rare cars going for auction, but this one really is something a bit special. The very last hard-top Bugatti Veyron is about to be auctioned in the US, and you know it's not going to go cheaply
The Last Bugatti Veyron Coupe Ever Made Is For Sale And It's Going To Be Expensive

Drop everything and check your bank account: the last Bugatti Veyron coupe ever made is or sale.

Chassis number 300 of 300 is being auctioned in Arizona. It’s one of just 48 Super Sport models in existence and only eight in US spec, making it ultra-rare in North America.

Compared to the boggo Veyron, the Super Sport’s 8.0-litre W16 engine is tuned to 1183bhp courtesy of larger turbochargers (four of them), two extra fuel pumps and a freer-flowing exhaust.

Special ‘Super Sport 300’ logos have been sewn into the headrests and door trim, and there is a metal plaque declaring its identity as number 300. The chassis number is also listed, for any buyers who want to triple check.

Despite a machine like this begging to be driven, less than 400 miles have passed under its wheels. You can pretty much guarantee the seller bought it solely as an investment – an investment that could be about to pay off, big time.

Auctioneers RM Sotheby’s claim that although its first owner took delivery in August 2012, this is the exact car that Bugatti itself displayed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, albeit overshadowed by the Gran Sport Vitesse run-out special edition open-top.

No estimate is being listed, and what would be the point? A car as significant as this is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, and if two or more bidders get excited the auction could run up some seriously big numbers.

It’s not our preferred colour and wheel combination, but we don’t expect too many bidders will complain. The auction, which includes a whole load of other goodies, is due to take place across January 19-20th, and you can bet we’ll be watching.

OMG! A Bugatti is like the Mona Lisa! They are automotive works of art. I got to drive one back in 2009 from Monte Carlo to Nice. They are a little frightening to get used to if you are used to driving luxury saloons as I do. It is rather stiff. If you’re into speed, this is the car for you! I’d rather look at a supercar than own it.

Alright, so who wants to buy a 2005 mustang for a mere 5 million?

You say it’s going to be expensive as if any other Veryon, a good deal of us probably couldn’t even afford a turn signal off of it.
