Honda’s Incredible Project 2&4 Won’t Be Going Into Production Any Time Soon
Last September, Honda launched a mind-blowing concept car that made the Ariel Atom look tame. We all prayed this motorbike-inspired, MotoGP-engined, bare-bones sports car might be made a production reality, but nothing has been confirmed.
With around six months gone since the concept first landed, our curiosity got the better of us, and we thought we’d try and find out what the chances of a production version are. Speaking exclusively to Car Throttle, the car’s designer - Martin Petersson - said: “the 2&4 has been designed with such a small niche, the real enthusiast customer in mind, that within the bigger picture of the Honda product line-up it’s not the priority at the moment.” Not exactly the news we wanted, I’m sure you’ll agree.
If it did happen, Petersson tells us that to become a proper production car, “mostly safety related changes would be required,” and that it could indeed end up with a MotoGP-derived engine. “There are a few engine options from the motorcycle side which could be interesting, but the RC213V or RC213V-S is the lightest and would fit the best,” he explains.
It’s important to note that putting it into production hasn’t yet been ruled out, and it helps that the concept has been well received. “We have been very happy with the reception and feedback from the motor shows and in the press. It has given a good base for us in the development team to continue pushing this project; we still keep the dream alive and hope to one day see the 2&4 on the road!”
So in other words, don’t bank on it, but keep your fingers crossed…

Such a shame. It would make an impressive Ariel Atom competitor.
Ariel atom is better
Won’t Be Going Into Production Any Time Soon
Because you can afford and you wanted to buy it.
This looks super unsafe lol imagine smacking into a wall drivers side at any speed over 45mph
B..b..but it’s a fun car!!
The Ariel Atom, Caterham Seven, and Zenos E10 are all similar, and have no problems. Remember that the driver is held in place with a 5 point harness, so he isn’t going anywhere.
Apart from the seating position it’s almost identical to the BAC Mono
At this level of low weight, there really arent many ways to take care of everthing, just like all F1s are highly indentical from the large scale
Having the seat inside the car would be better and more interesting. Crashing into a wall on track day wouldnt be fun.
Is the Designer blind?
Because the seat isnt in the middle
Moto gp engine! sold.
WHYYY this has to be a thing. I saw it at IAA and just wanted to drive it.
I hope i wont see people slamming this, cambering the wheels, and stretching the tires.
