Here Is A Very Expensive Lesson About Understeer
The Nurburgring is already dangerous - add a slippery spill to the track and you've got trouble
The Nurburgring Nordschleife is arguably the most famous racing track in the world. Its winding, undulating route through German forests has caused problems for even the greatest of racing drivers.
Thanks to a spill on the circuit, these racers get an abrupt lesson on understeer. Barrelling into the corner - and sometimes even when the marshals are clearly on scene - the wheels hit the spill and traction becomes non-existent.
The first couple of cars hit the barrier and flip onto their roofs as fellow competitors continue to fly into the corner - and the barrier. It's a miracle no one got hurt, especially as racers and marshals wander the track as wild race cars stalk them.
