Getting Smashed By An Oversteering Tank Must Really Spoil Your Drive Home

Military convoys use the roads, and it's usually cool to see armour making its way between bases or to exercises, but when a badly-steered self-propelled missile launcher smashes into you, you're going to have a bad time

Picture the scene: you’re just going about your business in your Russian homeland, when a tank oversteers wildly into your driver’s door. That’s the sort of thing that can spoil your afternoon, and it’s exactly what happened to this poor Skoda Yeti driver.

A military convoy of what looks like self-propelled missile launchers was making a 90-degree turn onto a busy main road, but one driver seems to have his mind on his dinner and forgets to steer until it’s too late, over-correcting and swinging the rear of the tank into the side of the Yeti, flicking it across the road like it was made of cardboard. The visible soldier on top gives a little wave… and then they drive off.

So, if you managed to drive to and from work today without being hit by a tank, consider yourself lucky.

Looks like they were trying to re-create that scene from GoldenEye

Two years ago a schoolmate of mine got T-Boned after taking the right of way from a British Tank transferring on a convoy.
VW Polo vs. big battle tank meant a very flat engine for the VW.
Local TV-station went to interview the soldier commanding the tank, asking how the girl (who’d had her license for under two weeks) could’ve not seen that huge beige tank coming at her.
Commander’s response (in half english half strongly-accented german):
“Uhm…he hat ja Tarnfarbe” (Uh, well…he does have a camouflage paintjob).
