well, same happens when Peugeot crashes into BMW E32…couple of years ago a rental Peugeot rearended dads E32. repair costs 350€ on BMW Peugeot was totaled. on bmw: (Bumperholdings broken and shockabsorber in the bumper broken+paint+Taillight)

You can’t compare a two star rating car (made in the early 2000) against a five star station wagon made in the mid 2000. It’s pretty obvious.
I think you’ve got the wrong idea about safety ratings, a car can have 5 stars but still have the outer body deformed after a crash, it’s about passagers safety.
Wait until the bumper comes off there will be surprises. Pretty sure off that
