Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Will Cost "Well Below" $100k

As Dodge so gleefully told us during that extensive teaser campaign, the new Challenger SRT Demon has been heavily re-engineered compared to the ‘lesser’ Hellcat. We’re talking about the addition of an air conditioning-based charge cooler , a trans brake, a heavily upgraded driveline and much more besides. With all those changes, this thing is going to be devilishly expensive, right? Well, not necessarily.
Speaking to Road and Track, Tim Kuniskis - FCA’s Head of Passenger Car Brands - said: “Obviously [the Demon’s price] will be more than a regular Hellcat, but it’s gonna be well below six figures”. With the Hellcat costing $64,195 in the USA (it’s not sold in the UK, boo etc), we’re going to make an educated guess of around $90,000 for the Demon.
Given all the work that’s gone into it, and the fact we’re talking about an 840bhp car that’ll do 0-60mph in 2.3 seconds, that seems like outstanding value for money.

Is this because it’s banned from racing?
Are you guys sponsored by Dodge?
I don’t mind it being banned from racing because if two Demons pulled up to the tree it would be a dead heat.
You don’t need to go racing, this car can be raced on paper.
It is literally a Top Trump car. That’s it’s only purpose.
I think Dodge have run out of ideas at this point. They have nothing new so… more power!
Damn. It costs 100K and goes much faster than other million dollar supercars.
I guess I wont find it too challenging to afford one of these.
Matt, I appreciate the spirit your pun. It’s fiendishly difficult to pull off a good one. Some of us have a supernatural talent in our possession and some have to practice and keep exorcising that skill.
