D8 Peking-To-Paris Caught

A lot has been going on at Spyker lately! The company has debuted it's new model line, the C8 Aileron - along with the C8 Aileron Spyder that recently made a debut at this month's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It's part of a greater push to sell vehicles in the North American market.

A lot has been going on at Spyker lately! The company has debuted it's new model line, the C8 Aileron - along with the C8 Aileron Spyder that recently made a debut at this month's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It's part of a greater push to sell vehicles in the North American market.

There is clearly room for expansion though. What's next? A 4-door sedan to compete with the Rapide and Panamera? Apparently not - the next model to be debuted is supposedly the D8 Peking-to-Paris. It was delayed after Spyker's funding crunch but had resumed a while ago due to an infusion of Russian funding.

It was shown as a concept originally, badged as the D12 Peking-to-Paris. The 12 implied a 12-cylinder engine. As Spyker continued development of the vehicle further, they opted for a 8-cylinder engine instead, possibly sourced from the Cadillac CTS-V.

Now Dutch magazine Autogespot has an exclusive, with pictures of the D8 Peking-to-Paris caught undisguised. They're claiming we'll see a production debut of the monster SUV at the Frankfurt International Auto Show next month. It's clear the D8 is a huge vehicle - just look at the height!

It also has some interesting design highlights though, like the flowing coupe-like roofline and suicide doors. It's clear this is a SUV like no other. If Autogespot is right, we'll see how recession-battered markets respond to the D8 soon enough!
