Which of the 2 set ups would be the best for airflow for a cold air intake? (My car is there to show the grille size). (The EVO represents a bumper mounted CAI).
Ehmm isn’t the IC supposed to be beetween the turbo and intake (filter->turbo->IC->intake) and not at the beginning (filter->IC->turbo->intake)?
I would put it up higher in the grille area but not directly exposed so that you don’t suck in air when it rains,
I would probably go for the top mount. It looks like it’s separated from the radiator. I had mine behind the bumper and I was worried that I might hit a pool of water and blow the engine. Plus it got covered in mud.
The top one where the filter would sit perfectly behind the grille is ideal, assuming you can make it work. Don’t worry about sucking rain in, to hydrolock an engine you’d have to drive into a river, just make sure you avoid puddles. Also what is the owner of that Evo doing? I just ….. ughhh
can you link me to that hilarious evo picture?
Does the filter have to be conical? Maybe you can find a performance filter that fits directly onto the stock air filter box.
