Review of my 1980 Mercedes Benz W123 240D

Okay so, weighing it at close to 1400 Kgs and producing a puny 71 Brake Horses, you won’t be winning any drags in this..
..Or circuit races..Or Autocross events..Or..Well you get the drift.
But that wasn’t the purpose of this car at the time of it’s inception.
No Sir, the purpose of this car is as to the point as , Simple.Comfortable.German
Now when i say German, i don’t mean Serious and boring, I mean Bloody Strong and well built.
She’s getting on a bit and is going to be 35 this year, but she still rides better than a large number of modern cars, Quite obviously not the current Mercedes’ or Audis or BMWs, but definitely better than some Hondas, Fords, Chevys, Hyundais, etc
Whats the best part you ask?
In today’s Day and Age, you can pick up one of these for a song!
They go so cheap you could probably turn up to your fast-food service job in one of these.
Running costs are low too!

Coming to the Driving experience, As i said earlier, you won’t be winning any races in them, but you’re going to be cocooned by THE most Reassuring German Steel which makes you feel like you’re in a Panzer Tank…Of sorts.
The ride is absolutely blissful and the cabin quality is really high grade.
The quality of the Resources used to build these car’s bodies is harder than you are when you wake up in the morning…You know what i mean don’t you.

Wood reminds me, the wood trim and even the vinyl trim in these which run across the centre of the dashboard can fall off at times but thats no bother because all it needs is a shot of Hot glue before it can go back on.
If anyone here is looking for a young timer to use as a daily, pick up maybe the 280E or the 230E if you’re looking for a saloon but if you have a coupe in mind, check out my 280CE ( In my garage tab ) it may be of interest to you
These cars put out 182 BHP ( 280E & CE ) and about 135 for the 230E and CE
