R35 manual conversion!
‘Ello fellow CTZens! Today I have a few questions that might seem a bit silly, but let’s say if someone had an r35 and wanted to convert it to manual, my questions would be; 1. How hard would it be? 2. How much would it cost? 3. Would it be easier to do if te car was fully automatic or semi automatic?

Coustom mounts and everything for the tranny, this would be really hard to do.
Because of all the acceleration I don’t think this is a good idea. You would shift too slow. Modern supercars are better with Double Clutch Paddle Shifters than a full on manual.
Long gear ratios can fix that
1) very hard
2) very costly
3) same as these two are not manual.
You’d need to find a manual gearbox and clutch assembly that will fit the r35 engine. And also a pedal assembly that fits in the r35. You’ll also need an aftermarket ecu as the stock one might not be too happy not to be able to talk with its auto tranny anymore.
It would be pretty much impossible, and even if it was possible it would be extremely expensive. That is due to the fact on how the R35 operates its AWD system. The AWD system is very complicated and it works directly with the engine/transmission to get the most out of a car. You’d need someone with extreme electronic/programming/mechanical knowledge to pull this off.
Thank you guys for your answers, I was just wondering if it would pay off to do such a thing. :p
You would have the sickest car out there. And heaps of respect in the car community.
Even if you manage to make a manual conversion to an r35 gtr, in a drag race you’ll lose to the stock automatic dual-clutch tranny, no matter how hard you try :P
No Idea but I know it’s done. There are few manual R35 race/drift cars I’ve seen. Maybe work backwards from there? You’re talking serious money I know that much.
PPG anb Holinger Gearboxes has the full Sequential gearbox for r35 complete with clutch
