because the r33 it’s ugly and the only competitive skyline was the r32
Because it is not as good as the R32 and R34 IMO.
How do you define “good”? It was faster than the R32, and the first production car to do the N’ring in under 8mins.
Its a pure failure.
Why?
Most skylines fanboys dislike it because it was slightly larger, and had smooth body lines. It deviated from the Skyline formula that had been made. While it didn’t do much racing like its brothers it still performed well. It also existed during a Japanese economic crisis if I’m correct, which contributed to it lack of presence in the race scene.
IDK, fanboyism as a whole is unexplainable and the hate for R33 comes from fanboying R32 and R34. The NISMO 400R is the most powerful Skyline and is an R33, and the I don’t think it lacks visually, but again, fanboyism.
because boat ;’p
Thanks for the responses, in all honesty the R33 is a beauty, and where im from (Barbados) has very few high end performance cars/ jdm icons such as supras, gtrs, lambos, muscle etc. Infact, there’s only one r34 here, one or two known beast 33s, a couple beast 32s, and barely 7 or 8 supras with one being wrecked atm. I Think its really only fanboy beliefs that make the car seem so underrated, but hey, atleast its somewhat cheaper now because of it.
oh and btw, you americans think you guys have a tough time? Try importing a car worth 25k such as a supra and having to pay an added 200% of its worth in duties.
If I’d want myself any of the GT-R’s I’d have to import if drom Europe or Japan.

Because of Initial D, it’s really that simple.
